Peripat

Peripats are medium-sized invertipets, about as long as a human hand from head to tail. They're nocturnal and carnivorous. They like to hang out among decaying plant matter, and they hunt for prey (mostly insects/arachnids) at night. They catch prey by expelling a stream of sticky slime, which can come from either their mouth or the papillae on the sides of their heads. They have decent eyesight, but prefer to navigate by using their antennae to pick up on air currents. They also may touch things with their antennae to investigate! While generally solitary, they are sometimes found in family groups of up to 15.

Peripats are commonly kept as pets thanks to their docile temperament and easy care requirements. As long as they have a decent amount of space and are kept fairly moist, they'll be happy and healthy! In captivity, they're often fed mealworms or crickets.
